GPs who dispense drugs from their own practice could be costing the NHS more than £7million per year by choosing more expensive medications.

Experts say the NHS’s reimbursement system has created a ‘financial conflict of interest in treatment decisions’ because, it allows doctors to choose medicines which are costlier but are no more effective than their cheaper counterparts.
