Health professionals have been given further advice on preparations for a no deal Brexit from the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Pharmaceutical Officer.
The joint letter summarises preparations being made to enable the NHS to respond to and manage medicine shortages if the UK leaves the EU without a deal, as well as the support that will be given to prescribers and pharmacists.
This follows on from the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s letter on possible medicine shortages which was sent to those working within the health sector in January.
Information on the mygov.scot/eu-exit website has also been updated, with members of the public being advised to continue getting and using prescribed medicines as normal.
