Elderly woman left at zebra crossing in Redcar for two hours due to ambulance shortage

04 April 2019 – Northern Echo

An MP is warning that a shortage of ambulances is leaving patients in “life or death” situations after a woman was left waiting for treatment for hours on the side of a zebra crossing.

North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) are due to withdraw two rapid response vehicles.

NEAS say they are making the changes because they have too many vehicles on duty overnight and not enough during the day to meet patient demand.
