Isle of Wight dementia ward closes due to lack of staff

12 August 2019 – BBC News

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust has temporarily shut the Shackleton Ward at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport. It reopened six weeks ago after a £200,000 revamp.  The ward was previously rated inadequate and “not dementia friendly” by CQC inspectors. As a result it was closed in April for 12 weeks.

The Trust is currently rated as inadequate and is in special measures.
