Care centre for vulnerable adults is ‘inadequate’

14 August 2019 – Devon Live

A care centre for vulnerable adults was rated as being Inadequate after failing to make improvements deemed necessary by inspectors.

Heatherside House Care Centre in Yelverton offers care and support for up to 25 younger and older adults with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism. Some people also have sensory impairments and/or physical disabilities.

Inspectors concluded that the cetnre requires improvement in being safe, effective and caring, and was inadequate in being responsive and well-led. The overall rating was inadequate as the result of a previous inspection in November 2018 when it was rated as requires improvement.
