‘Improving’ hospital trust needs to focus on emergency care

20 September 2019 – BBC News

The Trust running St Helier Hospital in Sutton has improved according to inspectors but the hospital’s emergency department is still rated ‘Requires Improvement’.

CQC rated Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust as ‘Good’ overall following an inspection in May when previously it was rated as ‘Requires Improvement’.

Inspectors found that there was progress in most areas, but the emergency departments at both Epsom General and St Helier hospitals remained as ‘Requires Improvement’.
