Plans to remove Hinchingbrooke Hospital’s trauma unit could put lives at risk

26 September 2019 – Cambridge News

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group wants to withdraw trauma services at Hinchingbrooke and change the hospital into an elective hub, which means that patients will need to travel miles to Peterborough or Addenbrooke’s for treatment.

Peterborough City Hospital is already stretched after Grantham A&E in Lincolnshire was downgraded and an extra 1,400 patients a year were diverted to Peterborough as Grantham’s A&E no longer opens at night.
