National Trust sites set to receive dementia-friendly makeovers

30 September 2019 – INews

Some of Britain’s most known historic and countryside sites will have dementia-friendly makeovers – thanks to a pioneering collaboration between two charities.

Some dementia sufferers struggle to get into venues, are overwhelmed by exhibition texts and leaflets and face difficulty with payment methods at historic venues.

Clearer signage and modified materials are to be used on paths and car parks at 500 sites in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, as part of a raft of initiatives in the National Trust and the Alzheimer’s Society’s three-year project.
