Experts are warning that family doctors are not warning patients about the side effects of antidepressants, sedatives and other psychiatric treatments.
Four in every five patients with mental health problems were not told the potential side effects of their medications, according to the charity Mind.
The organisation’s annual survey asked 12,000 people about their experiences, found 53% of patients did not receive enough information about the purpose of treatments they were prescribed. Only 21% of patients were given an explanation about the side effects their medication might have.
