The Right Honourable Lord Brodie is to chair the public inquiry into issues at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) campus in Glasgow and the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP) in Edinburgh.
Lord Brodie is a serving Judge of the Inner House of the Court of Session and a senator of the College of Justice. His appointment to chair the public inquiry was made by Health Secretary, Jeane Freeman.
The inquiry will examine how serious problems relating to key building systems and infrastructure occurred, and what steps can be taken to prevent these in future projects.
The Health Secretary will meet with Lord Brodie before the end of the year to discuss terms of reference and timescales for the inquiry, reporting to Parliament in the new year.
