A tribunal has ruled that the boss of a care home company told her secretary she would not hire a black woman from Bristol as a nursing home manager.
The secretary walked out of her job on the spot, because she did not want to partake in anything illegal. She has now successfully won a case for unfair dismissal.
Paulett Mills, from Bristol, was initially told she’d got the £52,000-a-year job of running a care home in Somerset and is now pursuing a separate case for racial discrimination against the care home company, which will be heard in March.
