A retired grocer and care home resident was given the chance to go back to work.
Ron Harden is 90 and worked in supermarkets for over three decades. He has particularly fond memories of his time in the fruit and vegetable section at supermarket giant, Sainsbury’s.
After talking about his work life with staff at Colonia Court Bupa care home in St Andrew’s Avenue, Colchester, about his working life, activities co-ordinator Dawn Kirkland arranged for him to visit the nearby Waitrose store as part of the home’s Never Too Late campaign.
The initiative is running across all Bupa homes with the aim of helping residents to live life to the full.
