Health bosses are warning that the A&E unit at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital does not have enough staff, thereby leaving patient safety at serious risk.
There should be ten, but at the moment, there is only one full-time consultant at the unit.
The shortage of staff is so severe that the A&E has nearly closed two or three times in the eight weeks since the start of 2020, according to its management team.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg health board will meet again on 27.02.2020 to discuss its options for the hospital in Llantrisant but there has been local opposition from residents and politicians.
