‘Urgent changes’ needed at troubled Shrewsbury and Telford trust, say inspectors

13 August 2020 – BBC News

CQC is calling for urgent changes to be made at Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Hospitals Trust (SaTH) after its inspectors marked it down for failing leadership and poor patient care.

The regulator called the Trust’s new alliance with England’s biggest health NHS trust, University Hospitals Birmingham, signed last week and due to start on 01.09.2020, a welcome “first step” on the road to making much-needed improvements.

SaTH has been in special measures since 08.11.2018, with a damning report into failings at the trust published later that month.
